MY EXTREME MAKEUP EXPERIENCE …(THE MAKEUP SHOW NEW YORK CITY)
I’m still filled with great excitement as I write this update. Yep!!! cos I had the privilege to be present at the Makeup Show New York City May 4th-5th.
It was an amazing experience for me and my career and you all gotta forgive me if I’m unable to express my excitement to the fullest, however I’ll let the pictures do most of the talking. This might be a long post ツ
First of all let me begin by saying that this is my first trip to the US (I’m still in the US) and you bet it’d be going down in my history book, or dare I say, my autobiography! heheehe ツツ.
I knew I was going to have fun and nothing was going to stop me. My hosts in New York were Pastors and Mrs Dele Bamgboye (friends of my parents), who housed me in New Hyde Park, Long Island (1 train and 1 subway away from the event venue). Amazing hosts. I’ll use this medium to say thank you Sir and Ma for being very good to me. Pastor (Mrs) Dele ensured I didn’t miss any of our Nigerian delicacy and also made sure I found my way around the city by getting me the right train and bus schedules and Pastor Dele (both Dele’s) ensured I felt at home. Thank you so much!
May 1st & 2nd
So I got to New York on the 1st and attended the Makeup Gala night on the 2nd. Same venue as the show : Metropolitan Pavilion,18th Street. Great night! I looked beautiful I know *fluttering lashes* Lol! A little nervous but mustered up as much confidence as I could and I began to mingle! and KABOOM! The jinx was broken! I made new friends, exchanged business cards, discussed possible and future business collaborations and guess what, some found it hard to believe that not only was it my first time in New York but also in the US. Yea, that’s how confident your gurl got… Lol.
You need to know that I got on the wrong train back home. Lol! So I got lost. This was about 10pm. First Tip for 1st timers like me:
1. Don’t get Frantic (I didn’t!!)
2. Read all the signs and maps available.
3. Ask questions especially look out for the uniformed guys ; cops, army guys or ticket attendants.
You’ll definitely find your way if you do. Or better still DO NOT GET LOST! Lol! Enjoy the rest of the pictures!
That’s Part 1 of my journey! Enough said for now. I’ll share Part 2 in my next post of how I came, saw, conquered at The Makeup Show New York!!! Thank you for reading and please, please drop a comment, ask me any questions. That would make my day!
